the aussie pronounciation is absolutely strooth!
I speak english quite well, but to be honest - the first 3 weeks I didn't get a word they said....
then, when I worked on a farm it was even worse at the beginning but then I adapted really quick.
now I luv the accent.

Yeap, the Australian pronounciation is really bad!!!! I remember one day in our first week when we ordered a pizza at "Eagle Boys" and the guy asked us about our name! He said: Your name please, mate! But it sounded like "Your neim pleis meit" We were looking at each other and he repeated it maybe 4-5 times and we had no idea what in hell he was talking about! It was so embarrassing and we had the feeling that we never learned english before!!! But anyway after a few days you get used to it but I have to confess even as an absolute Australian Fan I still don't like the accent!!! I prefer the American one and I also like the Irish accent!

I love the accent - I could spend evenings just listening to Aussies talking strine :grins:
By the way, did anyone watch "Crocodile Dundee" in its original version? Great, much much better than the German one which I now might never watch again, I reckon!!!

Hi,

To "train" the pronounciation I listen to the radio. Of course, normal people don't speak as clearly as people on the radio, but I think it helps.

Try this: http://www.radioaustralia.net.au/
It worked at my computer instantly, but you may have to install something first.
